There are very few jobs that any women qualify for in Pakistan. Christians are considered second rate citizens, so Christian women are in a very difficult position. By creating sewing schools in the local churches, women (young and old) are taught to sew garments for a trade. This is also a wonderful solution for widows, who are left without a way to make a living.

Outside the major cities there are not clothing stores. All clothing worn by the Pakistan people is made by seamstresses in the local community. Bolts of cotton are bought and brought to a seamstress where she selects patterns for the garments she needs for her family.

If a girl must go to work her only option is to work in homes of Muslim landlords. Islamic law states that any girl working in the home of a Muslim man becomes his property and is subject to whatever he desires. Currently the Pakistan church has trained over 100 young women to date. The women live in the church in a dorm where the cost of their room and board is carried by the church.
