Bikes for Pastors

Pastors on bicycles cover a radius of 10 miles to minister to their congregation. As you can see they take their wife and smaller children with them. A bicycle is a major means of transportation in Pakistan. Pastor Pasha will leave his house about three in the afternoon and return home around ten in the evening. This is his normal schedule five days a week. Sundays he holds three services. The first in the church, the other two in the homes of his congregation taking up the whole day.

Weddings, baptisms, baby dedications are fit into his schedule where ever he can. Pastors who do not have bicycles simply walk to visit their flock. There is no acceptable barrier to the Gospel in Pakistan. If there is no bicycle then the Pastor walks, but the Gospel goes forth. On Sundays most of the people walk to church. Some of them walk for miles each Sunday to get to church. The Pakistani people do not consider walking to church a hardship or burden. They form groups as they walk to protect themselves from harassment from Islamic radicals.

One of the great strengths of the Christian Church in Pakistan is the lack of anger and hatred toward their Islamic neighbors who despise and persecute them. They are wholly dedicated to bringing Christ to their country. Most of them were converted themselves and understand the nature of Islam.
